What To Expect On Your First Visit
If you’ve ever gone to a social event where you didn’t know anyone, you know how uncomfortable that can make you feel.
Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home.
Initial Visit
Although no two people are the same, each patient's initial visit will include many of the same thorough evaluation steps: consultation, examination, and x-rays (excluding children and pregnant women) followed by a thorough and unhurried explanation and discussion of all test results, health goals, and care plan options. An initial visit takes about a half hour.
CONSULTATION
Your consultation, health history and concerns will not be rushed. The consultation is comprehensive and addresses concerns of all bodily functions as we see your body not as parts but as a dynamic and holistic system. We don't just focus on the diagnosis; we focus on you and your health.
EXAMINATION
Range of Motion studies are included in the examination process. These studies are done to determine the state of vertebral discs, supporting ligaments and muscle conditions. While chiropractors can often be confused as just analyzing bones, this application of chiropractic addresses loss of joint integrity between vertebra which can interfere with the delicate nerve fibers. Decreased range of motion is a common finding for those who are sublixated. Differences in height between the ears, shoulders and hips, as well as posture and walking stride, are used to confirm x-ray and other diagnostic findings.
THERMAL SCAN
At Body Flow Chiropractic, we use NASA’s state of the art technology to gauge a baseline for how well your nervous system is functioning. On your first visit, we will conduct a thermal scan using a neuroThermal insight CLA to determine problem areas in your spine. These scans are repeated on re-exam visits to determine change that has occurred through the care plan.
XRAY
The last thing performed on the initial appointment is a full spine x-ray. We take x-rays in office on almost all of our patients. X-rays allow Dr. Tillie to actually see the spine. To see is to know, not to see is to guess and we don’t guess about our patients health!
